[Peru] Protests: Peaceful protest

On 10 April 2025, in Callao (Callao), a group of taxi and public transport drivers carried out a demonstration by marching through the main streets of the city in the direction to Lima city center, protesting against increase in criminality, hitmen attacks and extortionist attacks against the unions and demanded greater measures against criminality. The demonstration took place during a strike and protest day called by official public transport drivers in Callao and Lima districts due to increase of attacks from extortionists groups. At Oscar R. Benavides Avenue, a group of demonstrators forced passengers off buses that were not participating in the demonstration and blocked the circulation of the vehicles.
