[Peru] Riots: Violent demonstration

On 1 April 2025, in Belen (Loreto), a group of parents of students at a local school and teachers carried out a demonstration by blocking the access to the school and the Participacion Avenue with tires and other objects set on fire, denouncing the proliferation of rodents in the school due to flooding caused by the damaged sewerage system. The group demanded the construction of a new school to improve the safety of the students and guarantee their right to study.
