On 10 April 2025, in Tonsupa (Atacames, Esmeraldas), police forces arrested four members of Los Tiguerones gang, including a gang leader from Muisne. The leader had criminal records for firearm trafficking, receiving stolen goods, attempted homicide and other crimes. Police seized 1,585g of marijuana, 426g of cocaine, a submachine gun, three pistols, two cell phones, ammunition, two motorbikes and other evidence.
