[Ecuador] Strategic developments: Arrests

On 5 April 2025, in Guayaquil - Febres Cordero (Guayas), 400 police officers and 250 military personnel (security block) raided 10 houses and four rehabilitation centers while carrying out operation 'Apollo 13' in the Portete neighborhood. The operation had the support of the ministers of the interior and national defense, senior police and armed officers, and a former U.S. military officer and intelligence and operational support by the owner of the American private security company Blackwater. In total, 68 members of Los Freddy Kruegers gang were arrested, 15 cars and motorbikes, 15 firearms, communication radios, ammunition cartridges, cell phones and drugs were seized.
