On 15 April 2025, in Vina del Mar (Valparaiso), around a dozen suspected informal street vendors attacked municipal security personnel and police with heavy objects near the junction between Valparaiso and Villanelo Streets after they arrested a suspected thief. One police officer and one municipal officer sustained minor injuries. The perpetrators also damaged security forces' vehicles in an unspecified manner.
