On 15 April 2025, in Pitrufquen (Araucania ), two men and a woman attacked police near Laura Vicuna passageway as they attempted to arrest one of the perpetrators for threatening the woman with a firearm. Both the man wielding the firearm and the woman beat the officers while a third man emerged from inside a house with a slingshot and launched stones at them. Police eventually arrested all three perpetrators and seized a homemade shotgun. Motive unknown.
