[Chile] Protests: Peaceful protest

On 9 April 2025, in Coquimbo (Coquimbo), over 1,000 teachers and teaching assistants affiliated with the College of Teachers Union and based at 32 schools in Coquimbo and Andacollo managed by a local public education service (SLEP) marched from their union headquarters through the city to demand the payment of their wages for March, the rehiring of unfairly dismissed colleagues, better infrastructure, increased security and better management from the SLEP. Protesters had been on strike since 7 April.
