On 10 April 2025, in La Paz (La Paz), a group of official public transport drivers carried out a demonstration by blocking at least 38 sectors in the city, such as Mariscal Santa Cruz, Apumalla and Peru Avenues, as well as roads in the direction to El Alto and the access to the municipal council with a vigil, rallying against a municipal bill that reverts a previous bill approved by the mayor, authorizing the increase in public transport fare. Several city councilors (MAS) were inside the premises and demonstrators blocked their way out. The union called an indefinite strike the day before during another demonstration (coded separately) and urged the resignation of the president (MAS) of the city council. Interdepartmental transportation was suspended due to the blockades. A group of demonstrators forces passengers to get off buses and vehicles that were not participating in the demonstration and partially damaged some vehicles. A resident resulted injured during the demonstration and was taken to hospital. There were no fatalities.
