[Bolivia] Riots: Violent demonstration

On 7 April 2025, near Caranavi (La Paz), a group of inter-departmental official public transport drivers resumed a series of blockades with tires set on fire at different localities in the direction to the Yungas region, among them at the entrance of Caranavi and La Arrinconada localities and in the direction to Chulumani, Coripata, La Asunta, Palos Blancos, and Alto Beni municipalities. The blockades continued after agreements with national authorities failed. Demonstrators demanded roads maintenance, fuel and dollar supply as well as the resignation of the head of the national oil and gas company (ANH). The Minasa bus station in La Paz cancelled the transit to and from Yungas region due to the demonstrations.
