[Bolivia] Riots: Mob violence

On 8 April 2025, in El Alto (La Paz), members of the Red Ponchos communal movement retained four officials of the departmental electoral tribunal (TED) during the socialization at a local university of the electoral mapping ahead of the upcoming general elections. The group demanded the presence of members of the supreme electoral court (TSE) and modifications in the current circumscriptions. The officials were later released with police presence, but no clashes were reported.
