On 15 April 2025, in La War village (Hpakant township, Mohnyin district, Kachin state), the combined troops of the Myanmar military and the Warazup People's Militia Force shot and killed a 40-year-old man who was mentally ill. The military and people's militia force also detained around 40 locals in the village and set fire and destroyed more than 100 houses and shops.
