[Cyprus] Protests: Peaceful protest

On 1 April 2025, hundreds of protesters marched to the community hall of Polemi holding candles and torches to mark the beginning of the EOKA struggle against British colonialism. The protesters shouted slogans about EOKA's struggle and the Greekness of Cyprus. They sang songs and the Greek national anthem. They set off from a site that was used as prisons during British rule, notorious as a place of torture. The march was organized by EOKA fighters and the Polemi community council.
