On 5 April 2025, two locals (likely civilians as they were not armed) were killed and nine were wounded by Taliban members affiliated with a Taliban district governor in a village between Baharak and Khash districts [coded to Khash], Badakhshan. The Taliban allocated a disputed grazing land to the residents of Baharak district, instead of the residents of Khash district, who objected to the decision leading Taliban members to open fire on them. 2 fatalities.
