On 27 March 2025, at least 50 people gathered outside the Society Hotel in the Old Town neighborhood in Portland - Northwest (Oregon) in opposition to the business and its owner. During the demonstration, private security attempted to help staff close the building's entrance, which demonstrators were trying to force open. Demonstrators attacked one security guard. Police also observed someone vandalizing the front window with a paint marker. Two individuals were arrested, one of whom faces charges for assaulting a security officer.
