On 21 March 2025, in Saint Augustine, Tunapuna Piarco, administrative staff and daily paid workers at the University of the West Indies (UWI) held a march to the Human Resource Office at the university campus to demand higher wages. The mobilization was held as negotiations over this matter was about to start.
