On 16 April 2025, hundreds of farmers of Al Qadissiya governorate protested in front of the local government building in Diwaniya city (Al Qadissiya), demanding inclusion in the agricultural plan for the summer as well as unification of crops prices. The protesters called on the federal government and the parliament to support farmers. They also announced they would continue their protests until their demands were met.
