[Iraq] Protests: Peaceful protest

On 3 April 2025, dozens of local residents protested in the area of Al Malha near As Samawah city (location unknown, coded as As Samawah city, Al Muthanna), blocking the main road linking As Samawah city with factories and preventing trucks rom passing, demanding improvement of water services including a new pipeline and access to running water. They also demanded access to electricity (new electric poles) and street pavement. Protesters claimed their area relies heavily on Euphrates River which was both salty and polluted.
