[Haiti] Riots: Violent demonstration

On 2 April 2025, between Port-au-Prince - Canape-Vert and Port-au-Prince - Bourdon, Ouest, thousands of residents led by the leader of the Canape-Vert self-defense group, and called by the 'Unblock Haiti' citizens' movement, held a march holding three branches and machetes from Canape-Vert towards Villa D'Accueil (in Delmas 60) to decry rising insecurity and to demand the stepping down the Transitional Presidential Council, among other claims. The demonstrators, who set up burning barricades in Lalue, Turgeau, and Bourdon, were dispersed by police forces with tear gas and real bullets as the crowd crossed Bourdon. At least one demonstrator was injured during police reprisals. Another group of residents who marched over the same claims from Petionville were dispersed in Villa D'Accueil (coded separately). At least 1 injured.
