[Honduras] Violence against civilians: Attack

On 2 April 2025, in Choloma, Cortes, unidentified men kidnapped and killed two men, leaving their bodies near the Chamelecon River. The victims, who worked in sand extraction, had been kidnapped and were later found with their hands tied and showing signs of torture. One of them was semi-decapitated, while the other had multiple machete wounds to the torso, neck, and face. A third person, who escaped, alerted the victims' families to the location of the bodies. Authorities arrived to secure the scene, but no suspects have been identified. The motive is unknown. 2 fatalities.
