[Greece] Protests: Peaceful protest

On 9 April 2025, some 5,000 protesters marched peacefully in Thessaloniki over the high cost of living at the call of labor federations GSEE and ADEDY during a 24-hour nationwide general strike. Unions called for sector-wide collective labor agreements, wage increases and policy measures to ease the housing crisis and inflation pressures, among other demands. There were 3 separate rallies. Labor groups and EDOTH rallied outside the Labor Center of Thessaloniki; labor associations, including food delivery couriers, affiliated with PAME rallied separately; private and labor associations and members of anti-establishment groups marched to the Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace.
