On 8 April 2025, thousands of residents from across Egypt protested in the Rafah Border Crossing (Rafah, North Sinai) in solidarity with the Palestinian people and to reject their forced displacement from Gaza. The protest took place during an official visit to Egypt by French President Emmanuel Macron that included the nearby Al Arish.
