On 10 April 2025, from El Ato towards La Paz (La Paz), a group of butchers, members of the Contracabol carried out a demonstration by marching through from El Alto towards the national government headquarter in La Paz with cattle, protesting against increase in meat price and demanding price regulation. They also called for the closure of the Food Production Support Company Emapa and for the meat ban export to be extended two years.
