On 16 April 2025, members of the 'White Army' (Nuer ethnic militia) clashed with SSPDF soldiers at a military barracks near the Ethiopian border in Jekow/Jikou area of Jekow/Jikou Payam, Maiwut County (Maiwut, Upper Nile). The clash began after the 'White Army' ambushed the barracks but were repulsed. Casualties unknown.
