[Panama] Protests: Peaceful protest

On 3 April 2025, in Panama City, Panama, teachers and other labor unions held a march in the city center, demanding the repeal of the reforms to the Social Security Fund (CSS). The protesters also expressed their opposition to the opening of the First Quantum mine, defended national sovereignty in response to the threats from President Donald Trump, and voiced support for human rights and freedom of expression. In addition to the march, the teachers held a national strike. The Panamanian Association of Teachers (ASOPROF) and the Single Union of Construction and Associated Workers (SUNTRACS) were present.
