[Kenya] Battles: Armed clash

On 7 April 2025, police reservists pursued and ambushed suspected Turkana militia, leading to an armed clash in Merti (Merti, Isiolo), moments after the militia raided Mea village and made away with 87 cattle, 22 goats, and seven donkeys (coded separately). 3 police reservists were shot dead, while several others sustained injuries as the militia seized three firearms and 180 rounds of ammunition belonging to the deceased officers, before fleeing. It is unclear whether any of the animals were recovered during the incident. A joint security operation led by the police officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and General Service Unit (GSU) later recovered two firearms with empty magazines at Lemorijo village, Lengurma location in Isiolo North sub-county around 26 April (no mention of interaction).
