[Jamaica] Violence against civilians: Attack

On 4 April 2025, in Montego Bay, Saint James, at least three armed individuals in a moving vehicle shot and killed a man and injured at least seven others as they opened fire on a group gathering along Hart Street (drive-by). A wounded man died in hospital. Authorities suspect that the attack was a reprisal for the killing of a gangster's relative last year (uncoded). The intended target was the perpetrator, although it was not clarified if he was among the victims. The shooters fled the scene, although three of them were killed during a police intervention on 7 April (coded separately). 2 fatalities, at least 6 injured.
