[Italy] Riots: Violent demonstration

On 5 April 2025, people gathered in San Babila Square in Milano - Municipio 1 (Lombardia) as part of two demonstrations against the Israeli government, the killing of Palestinian civilians, and a bill set to sanction demonstrations, occupations, and roadblocks (DDL Security), which had been approved one day prior by the Council of Ministers. The two demonstrations started as separate events and then merged in the Square. Pro-Palestine activists and representatives of the Communist Refoundation Party participated in the event. Some demonstrators left the gathering and moved toward the Prefecture on Monforte Boulevard. Demonstrators came into contact with police forces on Donizetti Street, where a clash ensued as the officers pushed the demonstrators away. Demonstrators left and continued to move toward Piazza San Babila to rejoin the rest of the demonstrators. No injuries were reported.
