[Iraq] Violence against civilians: Attack

Around 8 April 2025 (week of), unknown perpetrators kidnapped a civilian in his twenties in Samarra city and later tortured him with acid eventually killing him with a gunshot, and leaving his body on the side of a road in agricultural areas near Banat Al Hasan neighborhood of Al Muotasim district (coded as Al Mutassim city, Salah Al Din). The body was discovered two to three days later, blindfolded and handcuffed. A special task force was formed, supported by the Falcons Intelligence Cell, to track down the perpetrators. 1 fatality.
