On 4 April 2025, two groups of gunmen clashed in the area of Al Maqil city (Al Basrah) due to unknown reasons. The security forces (police from Al Hadi station, 1st Emergency Regiment of Al Basrah, local intelligence and the Rescue Police of Al Maqil sector) intervened and arrested an unknown number of the participants of the clash, seizing their weapons. Casualties unknown.
