[Honduras] Strategic developments: Arrests

On 29 March 2025, in Comayaguela, Francisco Morazan, police forces arrested a senior leader of the Barrio 18 (B-18) Gang during an operation at a luxury residence in El Mirador, near zone 4 of the Cerro Grande neighborhood. The arrest was conducted by the Anti-Gang Police Directorate (DIPAMCO) in coordination with the National Directorate of Special Forces (DNFE), following weeks of intelligence work. The suspect has been part of the gang for over three decades and has an extensive criminal record that led to his rise within the organization. He is considered one of the gang's top leaders and is accused of ordering and participating in multiple crimes in the Central District and other regions. He is under investigation for homicides, extortion, drug trafficking, forced displacement, and money laundering.
