[Guatemala] Riots: Mob violence

On 31 March 2025, in Aguacatan, Huehuetenago, police officers arrived at the local market to evict the sellers, in compliance with a judicial measure. The sellers, however, resisted, and the police intervened with the use of force, throwing tear gas canisters and physically confronting some of the market sellers. The sellers then stormed the local municipal office and the police stations and set them on fire. There were no fatalities.
