[Chile] Riots: Violent demonstration

On 8 April 2025, in Santiago (Metropolitana), unidentified individuals erected an incendiary barricade on the Alameda (near its junction with Dieciocho Street) as part of a demonstration to commemorate the fact that a Mapuche environmental activist (also the president of the Putreguel Mapuche community) had been missing for five months (since she was last seen in Mafil commune (Los Rios)). Rioters also damaged a lift inside the nearby Los Heroes metro station. Police made at least two arrests.
