[Chile] Riots: Violent demonstration

On 8 April 2025, in Playa Blanca (Biobio), residents of the Las Cabanas informal settlement blocked traffic on Road 160 with incendiary barricades to demonstrate against a three-day power cut after electricity provider Frontel cut them off. Demonstrators claimed that both residents with and without energy meters had lost power, and had not been forewarned. Police extinguished the barricades but made no arrests.
