[Canada] Riots: Violent demonstration

On 31 March 2025, demonstrators, including members of the LGBTQ+ community staged a rally of 'trans day of vengeance' outside the City Hall at Place Vauquelin on Notre-Dame Street in Montreal - Center East (Quebec) to call for implementing trans rights in Canada. About half an hour into the event, some people started setting off fireworks into the air and objects, including paint, were thrown at police officers. Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd. One person was arrested for obstructing the officers. At least two shop windows and a car were damaged. No injuries were reported.
