[Burkina Faso] Battles: Armed clash

On 10 April 2025, JNIM militants attacked several advanced positions of Burkinabe forces (coded as army as they usually are stationed in the city) and volunteer fighters (VDP) in the town of Djibo (Djibo, Soum). 4 soldiers were killed, 6 injured and a vehicle burned by the militants. The Burkinabe air force intervened and conducted four drone strikes against the militants, killing at least 11. JNIM claimed to have attacked and taken control of military positions on the outskirts of Djibo. JNIM said its militants killed 6 soldiers, and seized a 12.7 machine gun, 3 PKM rifles, 7 AK rifles and other items. JNIM published photographs of the seizure. Fatalities coded as 15.
