[Burkina Faso] Battles: Armed clash

On 9 April 2025, an armed group (likely JNIM militants, based on location) ambushed a patrol of soldiers from the Rapid Intervention Battalion 25 (BIR 25) and volunteer fighters (VDP) in the area of Pama (Pama, Kompienga). 5 soldiers and 1 VDP were killed. JNIM claimed the responsibility for the attack, said its militants killed 6 soldiers, and seized a PKM rifle, a RPG, 6 AK rifles, 17 motorcycles and other items. 10 motorcycles were also burned, the statement claimed.
