[Chile] Riots: Violent demonstration

On 3 April 2025, in San Felipe (Valparaiso), between 20 and 40 residents of plot B of the Yevide informal land settlement erected incendiary barricades, set two cars on fire, and threw stones to demonstrate against their eviction by police. Around 600 residents (forming 121 households), most of whom were Bolivian, Peruvian and Haitian nationals, were evicted from the land owned by the San Bartolome construction company. There were no injured. Police made no arrests, but deployed water cannons.
