On 14 April 2025, overnight, an unknown armed group (likely Al Shabaab due to similar attacks by the group) threw a hand grenade at the residence of a local authority member in Bardera town (Baardheere, Gedo). The grenade landed inside the house and exploded. Casualties unknown.
