On 26 March 2025, street traders barricaded the road with burned tires, threw various projectiles (means unspecified) at municipal workers, injuring some of them, and stoned 1 municipal pickup and 1 municipal truck in the Tendjiguene market of Saint Louis (Rao, Saint Louis) in response to their eviction on 20 February. The Special Intervention Brigade of the police station intervened by firing tear gas. 14 of them were arrested and charged with taking part in an unauthorized demonstration, unlawful assembly on a public highway, violence and assault resulting in seven days of total incapacity for work, destruction and damage to public property.
