Around 1 April 2025 (month of), an unprecedented increase of attempts to illegally cross the border between Belarus and Poland was reported by the Polish border service. The attempts are made mostly by people for third countries (coded to Bialystok as aggregated location) and frequently result in clashes with the stationed law enforcers. As a reaction, the Polish government suspended the asylum rights across the frontier, with exception of vulnerable people, such as pregnant women or minors.
