On 30 March 2025, PNG Defence Force soldiers fought with Taurama residents at Taurama (Port Moresby, National Capital District) in retaliation to a fellow soldier being attacked by residents of Taurama (coded separately). The soldiers went to Taurama demanding the residents to surrender the suspects involved in the previous day's incident, resulting in a fight between the residents and the soldiers, that led to a few properties in the area being destroyed. Police investigations are still ongoing.
