On 17 April 2025, the Socialist Press Organization Nepal staged a protest at Ratna Park in Kathmandu city (Kathmandu district). The protesters were demanding an investigation into the death of a journalist during the demonstration held by the pro-monarchists at Tinkune, Kathmandu, on 28 March (coded as a separate event) and were demanding compensation for the victim's family.
