During the event, anti-rearmament demonstrators tried to reach Nettuno Square but were stopped by the police in anti-riot gear on Ugo Bassi Street. Rioters then set a European Union's flag on fire before trying to break the police cordon. The police reacted, charging the rioters, pushing them away using their shields and batons, and forcing them to leave.
