On 9 April 2025, Para forces, Assam Rifles, RR, CRPF and SoG exchanged fire with an LeT module at Naidgam area in Chhatroo tehsil (coded as Chatroo city, Kishtwar district, J&K). Two other sources stated that they were affiliated with JeM, while yet another source claimed that they were linked with HM. No fatalities. This was the first day of the operation.
