On 8 April 2025, TPNPB attacked and killed miners in Yahukimo regency (coded at Dekai district, Yahukimo regency, Highland Papua province). Sixteen miners died in attacks by the rebels between 6-8 April in Yahukimo (fatalities are divided between three events; 5 fatalities coded for this event). The victims suffered gunshot wounds, machete slashes, and arrow injuries. Thirty-five miners survived and were secured by the Indonesian police and military forces in Mabul village. The victims' ethnicity was likely non-Papuan based on the names.
