[Indonesia] Riots: Mob violence

On 3 April 2025, a clash broke out between residents of Sawai village and Rumaholat hamlet in North Seram district (Central Maluku regency, Maluku province). The motive was related to the beating of a driver from Rumaholat hamlet by the Sawai villagers. A police officer died from a shot in his face while trying to break up the fight, two civilians were injured, and several houses were burned. They also used air rifles and sharp tools and threw stones.
