On 8 April 2025, tens of thousands of people protested on several bridges in Budapest against legislation restricting the right to assemble, the ban on Pride, and against Viktor Orban and his links to Russia. The event was attended and organised by an independent Member of Parliament and the Momentum party. Attendees included retired judges, teachers, actors, students, a former state secretary, members of the DK party, the Socialist Party, and former members of Parliament. The police pushed protesters off the road, and several were arrested.
