On 7 April 2025, in San Francisco Zapotitlan, Suchitepequez, two policemen were called to colonia El Rosario to investigate three men acting suspiciously. Upon arriving, the three unidentified men opened fire against the police officers, injuring one and killing the other. The three attackers left after the attack on a small truck (camioneta). No motivation was stated for the attack. 1 fatality, 1 injured.
