Property destruction: On 14 April 2025, unidentified perpetrators set fire to cars parked outside the apartments of prison guards in Marseille (Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur), with some cars belonging to the guards. A previously unknown group, the Group for the Defense of Prisoners' Rights (Groupe de la Defense des Droits des Prisonniers - DDPF), claimed responsibility via the Telegram platform, stating their aim was to defend human rights in detention facilities. However, Minister of Justice Gerald Darmanin suspected the group was linked to drug traffickers. 'DDPF' spray-painted inscriptions were found at the scene.
