On 23 March 2025, officers from the Special Police Unit pushed an elderly Catholic man, causing his head to suffer from injuries, when they were ambushing a prayer gathering held in a village in Wenshui county (Lvliang, Shanxi). After the incident happened, the pastor called for help from local Catholics, who then came to demonstrate against the police's oppressive measures (separately coded).
